Natalie Whillans

Natalie Whillans

As an artist, Natalie Whillans strives to create unique and imaginative art pieces every day.

Natalie is an artist with an interest in a broad range of media but in more recent years she has begun to specialise in ceramic sculpture. She is particularly interested in figurative art, whether that be humans or animals or even a strange combination of both.

In terms of the making process, she has taken some inspiration from the techniques of local artist James Ort, particularly when it comes to the complexities of armatures.
In terms of subject matter, inspiration often comes from within. Natalie has a keen interest in the emotional side of art and, having completed a diploma in the therapeutic arts, will often incorporate aspects of the therapeutic angle into her work, particularly with the use of metaphor for self-expression.

Natalie’s creativity is often at its best in the moments of peace and quiet at home when she can tune into her emotional responses to the busyness and madness of modern living.

Natalie’s work will be displayed at The Book House – 93 High Street, Thame OX9 3HJ from 11-19 October.
