Liz creates bespoke Sterling Silver Jewellery and Wearable Keepsakes using traditional silversmithing techniques. Although she primarily works in sterling silver, she also incorporates semi-precious stones and a mixture of other metals into her work. Liz takes on various commissions, the most unique being her SticKidz, when she transforms children’s drawings into jewellery for all ages.
Liz has been making and selling jewellery for 7 years now. Liz is predominately self-taught, however many of her metalworking skills are drawn from her previous career as a Dental Technician. Her job as a Technician involved wax-replacement casting metals such as gold and cobalt chrome, as well as wire-work creating orthodontic appliances and prosthesis. However Dental Technology did not afford her the creative freedom that she wished for, and it was only after she made a new life for herself in the UK that she could take the time to learn the skills to become a silversmith. She loves the challenges of learning new skills and the reward of seeing the results!
Liz now devotes her time to making jewellery in her garden workshop at her home in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. Liz is inspired by the beauty of the world around her, beautiful shapes and colours. She feels most inspired to create when she is in her workshop, surrounded by her tools, materials and beautiful gem stones, and when she is allowed to lose herself in her work.
She exhibits in many local fairs throughout the year, as well as taking part in both Oxfordshire and Bucks Art Weeks. When she’s not taking part in fairs she opens her workshop to the public by appointment.
