Despite coming from a creative family – his father was a photographer, whilst his sister is a landscape painter – Ian was a latecomer to the world of photography.
Specialising in wildlife and landscapes, Ian has had images placed first in various competitions (Art in the Park and Photocrowd, being the most recent), ‘shortlisted’ for the Landscape Photographer of the Year, ‘nominated’ in the Fine Art Photographer Awards and also featured in several calendars.
Ian originally picked up a camera in order to capture the many special moments he encountered while travelling the length and breadth of the UK.
That passion for the ‘great outdoors’, along with the never ending search for the perfect image, is what drives him on. He is inspired by many of the ‘Old Masters’ landscape painters and feels particularly creative at sunrise when he is sat by a lake or on top of a fell in the Lake District.
