Denise Fishburn is the creative mind behind the Wobblies!

Inspired by her son’s magical innocence during his tooth loss journey over 23 years ago, Denise set out to make the Tooth Fairy tradition more fun and memorable. One night, after frantically searching for her son’s lost tooth under his pillow without waking him, Denise realised there had to be an easier way. She created a simple pillow to hang on his door, perfect for holding tiny letters and silver coins from the Tooth Fairy.

As the Head of Design at a busy wholefood company, she honed her skills in branding and packaging for beloved healthy eating brands like Nākd & TREK. But in 2021, feeling the need to rekindle her creative spark, Denise took a break from the corporate world.

With a 30-year career in design and a love for storytelling, Denise helps imaginative parents and carers make milestones magical by creating DIY user-friendly Tooth Fairy patterns and products, capturing their little ones’ treasured memories. During this rejuvenating period, she revisited her Tooth Fairy concept and brought the Wobblies to life.

Denise finds inspiration in children’s boundless imagination and feels most creative in her cosy studio filled with art supplies and childhood memorabilia. The Wobblies, originally designed as tooth pillows, have evolved into enchanting characters with unique personalities and stories. These DIY patterns allow parents to create memorable and magical experiences for their children, making the tooth-losing journey a delightful adventure.

Denise aims to spread joy and passion by helping others create their own unique stories and traditions. Follow along as she introduces the Wobblie Tooth Fairy trainees and unveils the four main characters, with patterns available for purchase later this year. Denise’s dedication to creativity ensures that each tooth loss becomes a cherished memory for both children and parents.

Denise’s work will be displayed at Cornfield Bakery & Cafe – 11 Buttermarket, Thame from 15-19 October.
