Christine Jones

Chris Jones has a wealth of creative knowledge and experience. She first trained as a Furniture Designer and Maker and then became a Design & Technology Teacher. She also painted watercolours for 15 years while sailing the Mediterranean with her late husband for 15 years.

Chris is proud to be a member of the Bucks Art Society and took part in Bucks Art Week this year at Orchard View Farm. She was shortlisted in the ‘SAA Artist of the Year 2024’, and recently won a double award for the ‘Excellence for Vibrant Watercolour Artist of the Year 2024’ – organised by The Warwickshire Advertiser in their e-magazine ‘Art Focus’.

This is Chris’s 3rd year exhibiting. By the end of 2024, she will have exhibited in 13 local art exhibitions and 3 art fairs.

Chris’s love of working with watercolour has grown greatly over the past couple of years, and when appropriate, she incorporates a little mixed media and sometimes ‘semi-abstract’ works, although she says that ‘new and exciting watercolour products are so vibrant and dynamic these days that the urge to incorporate them into my artwork is so exciting too’.

Chris’s inspiration is mainly taken from ‘nature’ and ‘the world around us’, and she knows as soon as she sees an image that ‘art is calling’! Chris also produces limited edition Giclée Prints, Cards, Bookmarks, Mugs and Coasters from her artwork images. Just ask about any image to have them personalised.

Chris’s work will be displayed at Specsavers – 109 High Street, Thame from 15-19 October.
