About

Thame Art Crawl aims to celebrate the local art scene in our gorgeous little corner of Oxfordshire. You will be surprised at the amount of talent the area holds, and we cannot wait to share it with you.

Thame Art Crawl launched in 2017, with the vision of increasing the opportunity for artists to exhibit, and people to enjoy, the visual arts in Thame, and has run each year since then. Thame Art Crawl hosts it’s own pop- up art exhibition in town centre – alongside Thame’s Arts and Literature Festival in October each year, as well as supporting other art exhibition events taking place throughout the rest of the year, including Oxfordshire Art Weeks.

We are specifically interested in showcasing artists who are based in South Oxfordshire and it’s surrounds. We welcome applications from both emerging or established artists, professional or amateur. As spaces are limited they are not allocated on a first come first served basis but are curated to suit the space and in consultation with the shop owners displaying the work. We will prioritise applicants who have a strong portfolio with a good breadth of work, that shows their commitment to their personal development as an artist. At times we will also invite guest artists from further afield to be involved in the event.

The Team

Thame Art Crawl is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the event to the town each year. It is supported by Thame Town Council, through 21st Century Thame, who provide some staffing support to the project. There are always opportunity for more volunteers to get involved and at the moment we especially need support with Website updates (WordPress based site), PR and Copywriting. If you have a passion for art and some skills to help we would love to hear from you – just contact us through the form on our ‘Get Involved’ page.

The event is run by 21st Century Thame, a partnership between local businesses, community groups and  Thame Town Council, coming together to

help ensure Thame stays vibrant and viable as a market town. They work to generate resources to that investment is made

into projects that improve and add value to the town.
