Melanie Codling is based in Haddenham. She is a painter and needle felter. Melanie has been painting animals and wildlife since 2017 and has a real passion for animals and nature and is influenced by the wildlife around her, especially the family of hedgehogs in her garden.

Melanie took up needle-felting in January this year because one of her cats had taken it upon himself to destroy some felted decorations on the Christmas tree, one by one.

She started with a fox and a mouse, then joined a felted fungi club, where her mushroom creations flourished. A lot of her felted sculptures and pictures are centred around fungi and the creatures that live with them.

Melanie last exhibited in West Wycombe in April displaying a number of mushroom and animal sculptures and paintings.

She also paints in acrylics.

Melanie’s work will be displayed at Domino Menswear – 10 Butter Market, Thame from 15-19 October.
