Derek is chiefly a painter in oils who loves to paint rural and urban landscapes and the off portrait. He is attracted to subjects with strong light and shade, and has been recently inspired by the Colourists.

His style varies depending on who or what is inspiring him at the time.

He’s recently shown at Longwick Art Show and Art on the Hill, and currently has a display along the corridor in Thame Barns Centre. He enjoys the challenges of commissions.

Derek’s work will be displayed at Monkey Puzzle – 1 Upper High Street, Thame from 15-19 October.
